What is Blepharoplasty?

Blepharoplasty – Eyelid surgery is the gold standard to correct eyelid hooding, sagging, bulging and tired-looking eyes.  During a short operation (normally between 1 and 3 hours), excess skin and/or fat is removed from the upper and/or lower eyelids to create a fresher and more youthful look.

Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty

Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty is a procedure where skin and/or fat is removed in order to reduce eyelid wrinkles, skin redundancy, fat bulges, ‘puffy eyes’, and creating a less tired and more youthful appearance.

Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty

Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty removes loose skin and protruding fat which sit over the upper eyelids, producing less-tired and more youthful appearance.

Correct Eyelid Hooding

Blepharoplasty is the gold standard to correct eyelid hooding. During a short operation, excess skin and/or fat can be removed from the UPPER eyelid and can help improve your vision and functioning of the eye.

Correct Tired, Aged Eyes

Blepharoplasty can also help sagging, tired-looking eyes. Lower eyelid surgery helps diminish those lower eyelid ‘bags’ and excess skin. Creating a more youthful and fresher look.

Our Blepharoplasty Surgery

By making an incision along the natural skin lines of the eyelid, it is possible to cut away skin and fat tissues and leave only fine, discreet scars along the natural skin crease of the eye. Upper eyelids that have a lot of excess skin can cause functional problems to the eye by causing a loss of peripheral vision, especially in the outer and upper parts of the visual field. Lower eyelid surgery helps diminish those lower eyelid ‘bags’ and excess skin.

Blepharoplasty restores the natural beauty of the eye, as well as your field of vision. Having excess skin and fat removed will make the eyelid look smoother, more youthful and improve peripheral vision while reducing the fatigue associated with it. During surgery, chemical peels or laser treatments could be used to enhance the healing process and improve the appearance of your skin.
