What is Cataract?

Cataracts occur when the normally clear lens of the eye becomes cloudy. Cataract sufferers see through cloudy lenses much like looking through frosted or foggy windows.

It can affect day to day life, reading, driving and even seeing peoples faces.

Most cataract develops slowly but if it is left untreated it can interfere with your vision and in some cases cause blindness.

Symptoms of Cataract

Some symptoms of Cataract can include:

  • Cloudy or Blurry vision
  • Finding it hard to see at night time
  • Sensitivity to light

Our Cataract Surgery

Cataracts can initially be treated with stronger lighting and eyeglasses. The more impaired your vision is, the more likely it is that you will need cataract surgery. The good news is that this surgery is generally a safe and effective procedure and there is very miniscule risk.

Our Ophthalmologist will firstly assess you for cataract and then determine if you are showing early signs of cataract or if you do indeed need cataract surgery.

If you are experiencing symptoms of Cataract, or if you know someone who is, please get in touch with our clinic and we can book you for an assessment. Do not let vision impairment affect your life!
